If you're in Hard Mode and use the party search window, it flags you as Hard Mode.

Just need to start using it!

That is useless since there is barely ever anybody in the town who wants to do hard mode, and most often, not even one person.

True, just pointing out that there is a means to identify people LFG hard mode if they use it.

The other day I saw a monk spamming for a hard mode group for a mission, and not getting one.

I for one am finding the same thing and until we can bring 7 heroes with better AI or until there is some way to meet up with people easier I won't get to do a lot of hard mode mishs that I really really really want to do (yes I don't need to but on that token, humans don't NEED sex to survive but look at how many people seek it). Crude analogy but come on people -- this thread is about finding people in hard mode so don't complain that we don't "need" hard mode. That's not what this post is about at all.

Exactly and there are those out there with more than 1 account who are working on getting their other car through other camps.Who really asked for Hard Mode was it the community or was it a idea by Anet to give more replayablity? There are those who beat NF already and are taking a break and or are planning a trip or just relaxing. There maybe more ppl playing then WoW but doing their own thing like farming etc.I would of asked this question do we really need Hard Mode.

I who plays Monk does not want to go warping through missions and such for a title and I still don't have protector on any camp.Players are doing that as well.

I think the survival of the species is pretty darn dependent on sex. Sorry, dude, but you're wrong on this one.

As far as I know, if we don't have that we don't have new people. We'll die out in around 100 years.

There is a forum on these boards for forming your own groups as well. Other fansites offer a similar way of finding people other than shouting "LFG" and asking guildies.

Kind of a shame tht that forum isn't in use much, but maybe it'll see a bit more action now?

I'm hoping hard mode seriously doesn't have to start coming to this - People having to abandon their established guilds or friend's guilds just to get hard mode done. Seriously, should those of us not blessed with large guilds have to leave ours just to make it through hard mode? Meh.

I had a group with 3 humans in in, the other side was 2 players + heroes: PWNT Vizunah. Henchmen are not an option indeed and it was hard as hell, but we made it. People needing help with missions can PM me anyway (LF 2 mm's, 1 curses, 2 monks, 2 nukers for eternal grove :P). I found it pretty frustrating too that finding a party takes an eternity. I actually finished 3 missions with the same people, we didnt want to split up after we got something good going on.

I just wanted to say that with a little bit of determination a lot can be possible. I feel your pain though, from all canthan missions I have yet to do: Gyala, Arborstone, Unwaking Waters, Eternal Grove and Sunjiang District. None of those are very easy I can telll you ><

Anyways, Only my ranger has full access to all of tyria, including pre-searing, but for factions and nightfall I have:
Ritualist
Necro
Warrior
Monk
Ranger
Ele
all geared up and ready to go.

As for people needing a few tips:
Zen Dajun:
Kill eles first, watch your ass around yijo, he uses spirit rift so you have 3 seconds to run away before it goes off
Raisu Palace:
2 eles with celestial storm make that one a walk in the park, do not use melee henchmen, only people
Imperial Snactum:
same tricks, shiro is stronger. Time empathy, insidious or SS on the moment he uses impossible odds and hes out.
Tahnakai Temple:
something around Classic b/p group with a splinter weapon ritu and 2 monks will do the job
Vizunah:
Shields up, Aegis, wards, good tanks to block the stairs.
Boreas Seabed:
Same recipe, spread out when fighting argo, watch out for deaman, and dont underestiimate the pets, kraken is still easy with good interrupts
Naphui Quarter:
Turtle is a pest, spell breaker might be an option, the rest is fairly easy, start at the right teleport and save turtle for last

General tip when fighting afflicted:
Watch out for broad head arrow spikes, kill eles first.

Well, our guild decided to go Hard Mode, so there will be more players.
When we don't get all positions covered, we fill with pick-up.
This would benefit us (we get an other hand) and the pick-ups (we know the drills).

I see people complaining that they now "need" to leave their largely inactive guilds. Why? It's a simple choice - Either stay with your old guild and go through the pain of assembling a PUG or switch guilds, get some actual interaction with other people and fun rides through every mission in the game.

Seems like a no-brainer to me, but peoples tastes differ I guess. As for me, I'd always take a new active guild over an old friendly but dead guild.

Besides: Hard Mode is too easy. Better NPC AI is needed to make it a challenge.

Well, I haven't played in hard mode yet, though I qualify. In fact, I haven't even been playing in normal mode. I think my Guild has wondered what has happened to me because I'm usually always around to help.

[This is still one sulky necromancer.]

I'm still deciding whether to dust off my assassin and learn to play that class [funny, I finished Factions with her and I still don't really know how to play an assassin], or whether I should devote more time to my ranger.

A ranger is not a particularly powerful character, so I don't know if that's my best choice for hard mode. She does fine in FoW as part of a splinter barrage team and I guess I could try that combo.

So perhaps the reason there are not enough people is not hard mode itself. I'm not l337 and never have been. I play to have fun. The fun was taken out of my main character by a certain nerf. I don't know that hard mode is going to replace the fun and right now, I'd rather do the ironing.

Sadly, no, I don' think there's enough players for HM...
Did the first few mission in Tyria in HM with PUGs, only because it was new.. and sadly now the novelty I think has worn off. Did Sanctum Cay with a guildie and heroes, and have pretty much been henching the rest.

I only have the Southern Shiverpeaks, Ring of Fire and the Maguuma Jungle missions to do. I've been in the Jungle looking for ppl, but alas..it is a tomb. The only players to be found there are some very lonely lvl14-18s, and the occasional lost adventurer. This makes me very sad..

I'm loving every bit of Hard Mode, and doing it on your own raises that same old MMORPG vs GW Single Player debate.

Yeah, there is a big whine thread about 7 heroes in a party though, which makes me wonder. If you can whine on a forum you can also ask people for help on the same forum.
Whatever, if GW was really a single player game I would uninstall and play dungeon siege 2. Thank goodness for PvP.

Hooray for PvP... not. I for one wish they'd get their arses in gear and give us better AI... then I'd never need to bother with another human again.

Want to cheat the class and go Thumper or Toucher?
Thats what the gimps in Alliance Battles seem to do, and I hate them for it.... or at least the touchers... The Thumpers are still susceptible to Insidious Parasite.

For me it's not the difficulty, but the fact that Tyrian Protector tirle requires the out-of-character act of attempting to kidnap one of Glint's chilfren.

then separate the districts between Hard Mode and Normal Mode. That would have ensure that Hard Mode players are easily found,
Use the search, be the first if you have to be. Most players wanting to go hard mode will be aware of it's functionality. The more they see it used, they more they'll use it.

Look around in outposts and not the main cities, Grendich Courthouse, Ice Tooth Caves. People you see there are more likely not currently following the main story line.
